Looking for Something to do this summer?

Why not try the UTAP Program?
The College of Arts and Humanities in collaboration with the Office of Information Technology is offering a credited technology training course during the summer and fall semesters. Students who complete this course will then be paired with faculty for a paid apprenticeship in the fall or spring semester. A UTAP student might assist faculty by developing web materials, creating Powerpoint presentations, facilitating electronic discussions or providing on-site assistance during the instructor's class.

Take a History course.
This summer the Department of History is offering 29 courses including one online course and one course at Shady Grove. Fulfill a core requirement, a major requirement, or just take something that interests you.

Apply for a Summer Internship.
Both the Department of History and the University of Maryland offer internships that relate to any interests. Spending the summer or a semester doing an internship provides valuable on-the-job training, allows you to explore a potential career path and provides excellent credentials for your resume.

Volunteer!
There are many amazing opportunities around the nation's capitol which could use your time and know-how. Help someone learn to read. Help build a house. You can even help fight global poverty.
