Adam Francis Plummer's Diary
Adam Francis Plummer was born in slavery in 1819 on George Calvert's Goodwood Plantation in Upper Marlboro. At age ten, he was transferred to Calvert's Riversdale Plantation. Plummer began keeping a diary in 1841 and continued to write in his diary up until his death in 1905. The diary is an important source of information about life in pre and post civil war Prince George's county during the nineteenth century.From The Anacostia Community Museum.
