Undergraduate Program
This concentration allows students to explore the history of women around the globe. Introductory courses include surveys of women in United States and European history. From there, students may compare and contrast the histories of women and gender in Africa, East Asia, and the Middle East. Topical courses investigate such issues as women's roles in Europe's "conquest" of the Americas, the relationship between gender and politics in Central Africa, the history of sexuality, and the participation of women in political movements like the U.S. Civil Rights Movement.
