2008 College DRIF Applications
Form (Word)
DRIF allocations are:
- only to be awarded to high-priority activities
- not to support enterprises with a lower impact, especially those which have an audience largely within the unit requesting support.
- no departmental lecture series, the primary audience for which consists of the students and faculty of the department itself
- College intends to fund only a few conferences, symposia, or film series, those that have the prospect of broad and significant impact upon the academic communities at which they are addressed.
The deadline to submit requests for such support is 4PM, Friday, May 2, 2008 in the Department of History Office.
Please assess very carefully whether you will be able to carry out the project for which you are seeking support.
Please indicate the other sources of funding (departmental, external, etc.) for your project, and the level of funding from each of these sources. In no case will the College provide the only financial support for a project.
In making the case for College DRIF support for your project, you should describe the scope of the project, indicate your target audience, and suggest the academic and intellectual benefits of your enterprise, along with the reasons why you feel that the College ought to support this activity.
Requests for support must include a budget
Applications for support should be addressed to Charles Rutherford, Associate Dean, Arts and Humanities, Francis Scott Key Hall but must be submitted through the Chair.
Please contact Courtenay Lanier (301-405-4260) with any questions.
