Graduate students are encouraged to contact the Student Interest Liasion (SIL) should they have any grienvances, whether formal or informal, at marylandhgsa@gmail.com. Emails should be addressed to the current SIL, Reid Gustafson.

Students may also fill out a grievance form, which can be found in the lounge located on the 3rd floor of FSK Hall or accessed online here.

Grievance forms can be filled out annonymously. However, filling out a grievance form annonymously will not result in direct action. Those requesting direct action will be asked to provide their name so as to allow all parties a chance to fairly address the complaint.

In addition to processessing graduate student grievances and coordinating with the HGSA executive officers, the SIL strives to create cross-departmental ties. The HGSA SIL actively cooperates with SIL equivalents in other departments and with the Maryland Teachers and Researchers organization to increase to support UMD graduate students' push for a graduate student union.
