[BEGIN TRANSMISSION] . . . fundamental concept governing this society.  Once this notion has been mastered, the basic outlines of further elaborations may be sketched out, but only then.   The prototype figure is a metallic form.  Note the potential penetration of the form in a [complex manner?] toward levers [or tumblers and slots], directly resulting is a retraction of impediments to human movement.  Without the particular key set to match the complex path within the mechanism paired to it, there remains a bar to entry, further movement, and so forth.  Every person carries this model.  It corresponds to the only truly self-contained  locking method used in quotidian society, the one relied upon by vaults and safes, the one uncontingent on largers institutions or the actions of individuals, and social mores: yet the one trusted less than many similes, or images of keys.

 

[MISSING PHRASE] the complement [?] is called confinement in American society and is the nadir of personal power, as much via metaphor as in lived experience.  As has been mentioned the actual number one has in one’s possession is no longer the sole determinant of status and power as we believe was once the case [MISSING] . . . in the extreme, the power of corporate board chairpeople [or rulers] derives from thousands of keys, few or none of which are carried on his or her actual person . . .
